I, staring at an oblivion
That will surely blow me away
Without notice, without care

Cabrito’s Last Stand
In the mythical town of O Da Lay
there lived an evil old fellow
called Chupy the Chupacabra.
Long ago this bully came to town
pushed his weight around until
no matter who was in charge
Chupy ran the town and its people.
No one would stand up to Chupy
not even old fat marshal, Chancho.
Finally, a young handsome hero
rode right up to the Snake Bite,
O Da Lay's only watering hole.
With confidence our hero strode
up to the ugly old bartender,
a gringo rattlesnake called Mort,
"Where is the evil monster hiding?"
Mort pointed to a figure dressed
in a dirty old serape and sombrero,
he sat alone and lurking in shadow.
"Stand up you coward, face me.
I have come to gun you down pero!
Come out in the street and face me,
are you just a gutless old swine?"
Our young hero turned and left.
Chupy ducked into a friendly shadow
to make his way out of O Da Lay.
Cabrito knew the fiend would run
so he waited where Chupy's horse
stood snoozing in his stable.
As Cabrito expected Chupy stepped
into a patch of sunlight, "Reach!"
Cabrito called out from his hiding,
"You killing days are done my friend,
No more shall you terrorize folks!"
Chupy's hand barley moved when
a shot rang out, and Chupy fell
the dust turning dark around him.
The next day, after we buried Chupy,
we, the people of O Da Lay, made
the handsome young hero sheriff.
Peter Holland

Happy, happy lord of the sticks is he
Howl, Chupacabra! Howl, Chupacabra!
Moon is full indeed
Chupacabra sits near the mesquite tree
Happy, happy lord of the weeds is he
Run, Chupacabra!, Run, Chupacabra!
Time to hide you see
Chupacabra sits on a cactus pear
Thorns sticking out like strands of hair
Yelp, Chupacabra! Yelp, Chupacabra
Sometimes life’s not fair
Juan Manuel Pérez
Where The Chupacabras Roam
O’ give me a home
Where the chupacabras roam
Where the chisme is as good as the truth
Rivers have Spanish names
So la llorona’s to blame
When you wind up missing again
Gone, gone where it’s strange
And chupacabras come out to play
South Texas is home
There’s no place I best know
Where the heat makes the demons all cry
You might like it here
There is even some deer
And the beer is kept as cold as can be
So it rains once a year
But we are used to it here
So come on, make South Texas your home
Gone, gone where it’s strange
And chupacabras come out to play
South Texas is home
There’s no place I best know
Where the heat makes the demons all cry
Juan Manuel Pérez

20) Create A Chupacabra Protest Or Declaration Signs:
Using simple, discarded card board boxes, create your very own protest or declaration sign. Below are several suggestions that have been used before. Here is an image of some that were done for me.
Of Course you can come up with your own idea so long as El Chupacabra is central to the idea. Add a stick to use to hold them up or just display them on a wall (as I did). Feel free to send us a photo/jpeg of your creation(s) via email to hotfcpress@yahoo.com or post it at will to our Chupacabra Facebook Page at: https://www.facebook.com/HouseOfTheFightingChupacabras.

The actual "pinpointing" can be done using pushpins or flags or dots or whatever works for you. Use blank maps like the ones given as examples below or one you already have or want to use. Don’t forget to add color. Perhaps you can expand the size of your map or draw one on a poster board for enhanced viewing and "pinpointing" sightings. This activity can also be used as an alternative to a Geography assignment that maybe highlights Hispanic Month influences or even as a special treat as an October (Halloween) Activity. 24) Play Pin The Tail On The Chupacabra:
(Description Coming Soon!)
25) Play "Dead Chupacabra:"
(Description Coming Soon!)
26) Play "Goat, Goat, Chupacabra!":
The rules are basically the same as "Duck, Duck, Goose." In a group of preferably 13 (twelve goats and one chupacabra; Rational: three digits per chupacabra equals 12 digits and an extra digit drives it wild; Humor me, it’s the Number 13!) sit in a circle or "pen of goats" and choose a "chupacabra" to start the game. The "chupacabra" will circle the "pen of goats" touching each of their heads and saying "goat" going around the "pen" until the "chupacabra" chooses a "goat" to be the "chupacabra." The new "chupacabra" must chase the old "chupacabra" around the "pen of goats" to tag back. If he does not get to him on time, then it is the new chupacabra’s turn to go around the "pen" and say "goat." If the new chupacabra catches the old chupacabra before he can sit, then the old chupacabra must continue again. Speed and coordination are key in this game. The madness can continue over and over again until everyone is tired
or recess is over. Feel free to send us a photos/jpegs or video of you and your friends playing "Goat, Goat, Chupacabra" via email to hotfcpress@yahoo.com or post it to our Chupacabra Facebook Page at: https://www.facebook.com/HouseOfTheFightingChupacabras.
27) Create A Chupacabra-Themed Paper Fortune Teller
Create your very own Chupacabra-Themed Paper Fortune Teller like the ones school-aged kids make. Examples of Paper Fortune Tellers are provided below as are the instructions on what to include in one that is Chupacabra-themed. Feel free to send us a photo/jpeg of your Chupacabra-Themed Paper Fortune Teller(s) via email to hotfcpress@yahoo.com or post it to our Chupacabra Facebook Page at: https://www.facebook.com/HouseOfTheFightingChupacabras.
a. Going from the outside in, here is how it should be marked or colored:
1. For the "Color Blocks" use Grey, Green, Red, and Black. All associated with El Chupacabra: Grey and Green for the reported skin colors of the creature; Red for the eyes; and black for the night which it uses to hide. But as always, you can use what ever creepy colors you want.
2. For the "Number Pyramids" use the standard numbers 1-8.
3. For the "Inside Pyramids" use statements such as the ones below or make up your own:
A. Saved By the Goat
B. He’s Watching You
C. Caught By It’s Claws
D. Fanged At The Throat
E. Run For Your Life
F. Heart Beating Fast
G. Chupacabra Like
H. Go Inside Your House
I. Chupacabra Nearby
J. Go Count Your Chickens
4. Decorate it as elaborate as you want so long as it is Chupacabra-themed: Eyeballs, Chupacabra head with spikes, etc.

Cabrito’s Last Stand
In the mythical town of O Da Lay
there lived an evil old fellow
called Chupy the Chupacabra.
Long ago this bully came to town
pushed his weight around until
no matter who was in charge
Chupy ran the town and its people.
No one would stand up to Chupy
not even old fat marshal, Chancho.
Finally, a young handsome hero
rode right up to the Snake Bite,
O Da Lay's only watering hole.
With confidence our hero strode
up to the ugly old bartender,
a gringo rattlesnake called Mort,
"Where is the evil monster hiding?"
Mort pointed to a figure dressed
in a dirty old serape and sombrero,
he sat alone and lurking in shadow.
"Stand up you coward, face me.
I have come to gun you down pero!
Come out in the street and face me,
are you just a gutless old swine?"
Our young hero turned and left.
Chupy ducked into a friendly shadow
to make his way out of O Da Lay.
Cabrito knew the fiend would run
so he waited where Chupy's horse
stood snoozing in his stable.
As Cabrito expected Chupy stepped
into a patch of sunlight, "Reach!"
Cabrito called out from his hiding,
"You killing days are done my friend,
No more shall you terrorize folks!"
Chupy's hand barley moved when
a shot rang out, and Chupy fell
the dust turning dark around him.
The next day, after we buried Chupy,
we, the people of O Da Lay, made
the handsome young hero sheriff.

Where The Chupacabras Roam
O’ give me a home
Where the chupacabras roam
Where the chisme is as good as the truth
Rivers have Spanish names
So la llorona’s to blame
When you wind up missing again
Gone, gone where it’s strange
And chupacabras come out to play
South Texas is home
There’s no place I best know
Where the heat makes the demons all cry
You might like it here
There is even some deer
And the beer is kept as cold as can be
So it rains once a year
But we are used to it here
So come on, make South Texas your home
Gone, gone where it’s strange
And chupacabras come out to play
South Texas is home
There’s no place I best know
Where the heat makes the demons all cry
Juan Manuel Pérez
